U.S. Government Launches One-Stop Federal Website

On FirstGov.gov you can search millions of pages from federal and state governments, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Most of these pages are not available on commercial websites.

FirstGov has the most comprehensive search of government anywhere on the Internet. It also provides a Spanish-language portal РFirstGov en Espa̱ol. In addition, entrepreneurs can find out how to do business with the federal government through the FirstGov Business Gateway.

A little R & R

A week in Vail and Beaver Creek cures the winter blues. Vail is a great place to ski, but it’s expensive. Lift tickets are $90, but you can buy them in advance for $78 from this site. Beaver Creek – adjacent to Vail – was developed by the same company that developed Vail. They have record amounts of snow and the skiing is excellent.

I was lucky this year. A group of high school friends invited me to join them in a “ski in-out condo” located right on the slopes of Beaver Creek. Really, really, nice place with hot tubs, state-of-the-art kitchen, bathrooms/showers in every room, etc.

If you want to check on the weather and snow conditions in Vail and Beaver Creek visit www.snow.com

The vision of Vail Valley began when the founder of Vail, Pete Siebert, dreamed of creating a European-style ski village in the pristine area he discovered while serving with the 10th Mountain Division during World War II. His dream became a reality in 1965 when he opened the nearby Vail ski resort, and after the success of Vail, Pete’s team decided to extend
his vision to Beaver Creek in 1980. Today, millions of visitors from all over the world flock to the area.

I hope to join them again next year.

1Club.FM Internet Radio Station – Miami, Tampa, Chicago

1Club.FM Internet Radio Station

Offers 40 channels of streaming music. It is one of the websites I listen to while working in my home office.

On weekends, I’ll plug my laptop into my stereo and listen to 1Club.FM throughout the house. I had a conversation with a few friends at a dinner party this past weekend concerning the longevity of satellite radio. We were wondering, who needs to pay for XM or Sirius radio?

Isn’t it just a matter of time before everyone will have endless choices of free music over the Internet? Simple connection to the home stereo and you have Miami dance floor music or Chicago Blues in your living room. And that’s available now.

Don’t like the song, scan your computer screen, click on “what’s playing now” and select a song you like. With Wifi nets soon to be everywhere, you’ll be able to receive the same music in your car within the year, if not within a few months. It’s hard for me to believe satellite radio has a future given the Internet stations offer significantly more user choice.

Client Request

This post is for one of my clients looking to edit PDF files (ignore this post if you’re just browsing my blog).

Adobe Acrobat 6.0
As you requested, here’s the Adobe software you’re looking for. You’ll do fine getting the older 6.0 version – I can’t see you using any of the features in the 7.0 version. In addition, the older version is significantly less expensive. Once you have your marketing materials ready, I’ll show you how to create the PDF files for sending as email attachments and uploading to your website.

Invoicing
Also, set up a PayPal account. Click the PayPal image below and read their section on sending “email invoices.” The program integrates with Quickbooks, a nice feature since you’ll be doing your own accounting. The time saved is going to be significant. Sending your invoices in advance also allows you to separate the “buyers” from the “shoppers” – more sessions and less cancellations.

I selected this service for my consulting business because there are no start-up or monthly fees, no cancellation fees, and no minimum payments. Also, I did a lot of research and found the transaction fees to be as competitive or lower than most other merchant account providers. Signing up took me less than 10 minutes.

If you have any questions, just give me a call anytime.

About life and living it right

Posted at this site (and many others I’m sure):

“A group of working adults got together to visit their University lecturer. The lecturer was happy to see them.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. The Lecturer just smiled and went to the kitchen to get an assortment of cups – some porcelain, some in plastic, some in glass, some plain looking and some looked rather expensive and exquisite.

He offered his former students the cups to get drinks for themselves. When all the students had a cup in hand with water, he spoke: “If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not the cup, but we unconsciously went for the better cups.”

“Just like in life, if Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and maintain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change.” “If we only concentrate on the cup, we won’t have time to enjoy the water in it.”
